Welcome to the Gloucester Blues Club website

Gloucester is well known for it's long-running week-long annual Blues festival and as the home of the European Blues Association and now there's a regular monthly event where Blues lovers in the area can enjoy some great live Blues acts and meet friends old and new who share a passion for the Blues.

The Gloucester Blues Club brings you great live Blues the last Sunday of the month in the upstairs function room of the Brunswick in Park Road - just a short stroll from the heart of the city centre and with ample parking.

There is a small cover charge at all events and this goes directly to the performing musicians - the Brunswick kindly lets us use their function room to host the events but the Club has to cover the cost of hiring the musicians and the only way we can do that is by charging on the door. If you think you may come to the club regularly ask the organisers about becoming a member - it's cheap and after only a few gigs you will be saving money.

We'd like to thank Katie at CC Photography for letting us use her photos on the website and Earl & Thompson Advertising for designing the fantastic Gloucester Blues Club logo for us.

Feel free to email us for more information about the club and its events. Thanks.

    Never The Bride concert!

Never The Bride - Full Band come to Gloucester!! The event is at BWM Promo Wotton Hall Concert Room, Gloucester on Friday 27 September.

Lead singer Nikki Lamborn is one of the most talented vocalists in the music world today. Roger Daltrey once gave possibly the highest accolade when he said “Nikki is the best female rock singer since Janis Joplin, and I should know what I am talking about, I knew Janis!” Many compliments come from great singers: Diva Dame Shirley Bassey on hearing Nikki sing The Living Tree for the first time said “I got goose pimples and the hairs on the back of my neck stood up.”
Here are some quotes about the band: “Best rock voice since Janis Joplin” (Roger Daltrey), “Nikki Lamborn is a wonderful vocalist. Never The Bride are an absolutely brilliant band, one of the best live bands in Britain” (Bob Harris, BBC Radio 2),  "Inspirational” (Dame Shirley Bassey), “These women exude their souls in their music and lyrics” (Blues In Britain), “Luminous” (Carlos Santana), “The delicate and sometimes melancholy piano finesse of Catherine Feeney cradles Lamborn’s sweet style throughout.” (Sanitarium).
With the full band in place this is a night to remember. Check them out at www.neverthebride.com and see our Calendar page for the event for all details and link to ticket sales.

The Former Members – Monterey Festival ’67 are Back!!
Last year, one very popular Gloucester Blues Club Special was our visit from “The Former Members” - they are back on Fri. 3rd of May '13
The Former Members are: Greg Douglass - guitar, David Bennett Cohen - keyboard and guitar, Bruce Barthol - bass, Roy Blumenfeld – drums…together they re-visit The Monterey Festival of 1967 where they played!
The Monterey International Pop Music Festival in California was a three-day concert event held June 16 to June 18, 1967. Monterey was the first widely promoted and heavily attended rock festival, attracting an estimated attendance of 90,000. It featured the first major American appearances by Jimi Hendrix and The Who and the first major public performance of Janis Joplin. Psychedelic legends Country Joe & The Fish, The Blues Project (with Al Kooper) and The Steve Miller Band also appeared at his prestigious and historical event. THE FORMER MEMBERS include core members of these three bands! This ain’t just music - this is history! A true psychedelic blues super group!
We had them here in Gloucester just once before, mid-week, when many people from around the region weren't able to make it - due to the weight of demand they're back - don't miss it!
